Antaru Festival Project

Presently in Japan, many people from many places and many culutures have come together and are living in harmony and understanding.
This situation presents the opportunity and the beginning of road toward the actualization of world peace.
However, the practical application of this useful tool for change is, sadly, underutilized and lack of initiative prevents it from blossoming into a full-scale peace movement applicable across the glove.

The Antaru Festival Project is designed to nurture the spirit of peace that is ever present and rapidly growing in our world, as well as provide a model for the future of the peace movement.
It's an opprtunity to experience the actualization of peace through a from of celebration that dissolves boundaries between individuals, races and cultures.
This act of bringing people closer together is achieved by sharing of unique cultural customs, as well as varieties of ethnic culture, food and music within the festival itself.

We at the Antaru Festival Project believe that closing the distance and opening the doors between individuals is the crucial first step toward world peace.
The name 'Antaru' comes to us from the Ausa Language of Ghana, in West Africa, chosen by the project leader, Osuman Orlando Bingle, of Ghana.
'Antaru' is known to mean 'gather,' but its meaning runs much deeper.
It means to see eye to eye with compassion, understanding, tolerance and striving for happiness and harmony together.
So naturally the Antaru Festival Project will be held in japan, where the realization of peace is closer than ever before.

Antaru Festival Project will be held in Yoyogi Park(field stage and peripheral area), in Shibuya Ku, Tokyo on November 24th and 25th 2007.
Events include world music performances, arts and crafts exhibits and displays, carnival performances, street performances, live painting and more.
Audience participation is encouraged.
